DAY CARE FOR INFANTS ( 6 Weeks to 16 Months)
“The greatest of the human personality begins at the hour of birth, so education must start from birth” – Maria Montessori
Our caregivers love what they do and take great pride in providing a warm and loving environment for your little one. They encourage developmental milestones to foster self-confidence, independence, coordination, focus and concentration. Our infant program is well-rounded, fostering your child’s innate desire to learn.
It’s important at this age to let each child eat, sleep, or play according to his or her own natural timetable.Age appropriate materials help your child grow and develop to his or her fullest potential, making the most of those critical early learning years.
Health and safety
Your top priority is making sure your baby is healthy, safe and happy. It is ours as well. Our team and the environment is prepared with that in mind.
Love and security
A trusting bond is formed with your child’s nurturing caregivers who attend to his or her emotional and physical needs.
Social interaction
Simply being in the presence of “someone like me” sets the foundation for interpersonal connection.
Daily individual lessons
Caregivers lead one-on-one lessons that focus on special developmental areas including cognitive, social, language, motor, sensory and practical life.
Independence
The Montessori philosophy to “follow the child” encourages exploration, self-awareness, and self-care.
Parent Communication
Consistent and thorough communication, including daily emails about your child’s day, helps you stay informed and involved in your child’s care.
Freedom of Movement
Floor time, tummy time, a climbing area and tunnels encourage physical and cognitive development.
Respect for the child
Every child deserves respect, to be treated as an individual and to beunderstood.
Together We Make a Difference
The ratio of infants to teachers is never more than three to one, which is a step above state standards. A “primary care giver” is designated to monitor your child’s schedule and communicates accomplishments, tendencies, and concerns to you on a daily basis. We firmly believe in open and thorough communication between the caregiver and the home to provide the best possible care. We will send you daily emails highlighting your child’s activities each day and one or more photos of your child’s experiences.
Special Attention
A warm setting has been specially designed to help your child feel safe and secure while providing freedom of movement and gentle stimulation of the senses. All equipment and toys are sanitized on a daily basis to avoid the spread of germs.Food is refrigerated and then heated in a microwave but closely monitored for temperature before feedings. Bottles are individually labeled, dated and only heated in a bottle warmer as necessary. Each child has his or her own sleeping area and all items such as bottles, pacifiers, diapers, sheets, and such are labeled and stored separately.
